The Princess of Puddings

Puddings and princesses have a strange relationship. Given that most royal women now are super slim, it's a fair guess that the dessert part of the menu is skipped in palaces around Europe. But that didn't stop Crown Princess Mary of Denmark picking up her spoon and stirring on an engagement in Canada.

The princess was at famous department store, Hudsons Bay, as part of a three day visit to Canada where she and Prince Frederik were helping showcase Danish firms and build links between the two countries.  And to help promote her country's designs, Mary joined in a cooking demonstration with Michelin star winning chef, Paul Cunningham.

The pudding involved a meringue, custard and blueberries which the chef had foraged himself earlier. And the princess looked like she was thoroughly enjoying her very public cookery class. While at the store the couple also cut the ribbon to officially open a Danish design section in the shop and received some presents to take home with them. The pudding the princess made was too fragile to pack in the suitcase but Mary looked like she enjoyed her chance to mix things up.
