The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge released the three pictures to mark the festive season and as a thank you to the press for not taking unsolicited images of the little prince and allowing him to grow up away from the media spotlight.

The pictures were taken in the courtyard of their Kensington Palace home in November when George was about sixteen months old. The three images show a happy, relaxed little boy with a very cheeky grin.

The three photos have been well received and show a marked change in the little boy whose last official appearance came in July 2014 when he starred in three images released to celebrate his first birthday. Still blonde but looking more like his mum, this is George ready to take on the world. But when it comes to Christmas cuteness, he's already conquered it.
